hi..
Well i have applied to the NYC council and emailed numerous private schools who said they do not sponsor for visa's. I even tried NJ! I have started to think about applying to other jobs just to get into the NY area.
I am a primary teacher but i work with deaf children at the moment.
Basically i need sponsorship for an H-1B visa... or authorisation to work in the US whenever I apply I am told I sound great but the visa is the problem. I dont even know if my dual nationality would effect it as I have a UK and Italian passport!
any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. |

have you tried the NYC Board of Education? What about schools for deaf children in NY area? =Peter= _________________ There are excellent websites to post inquiries concerning your family genalogy staffed by individual volunteers who do not charge anything but offer their knowledge to preserve family ties. |

you have to be state certified.. sitting various exams. They also want specific qualifications and I was basically told that the do not employ out with the country for special needs.. although it is one of the main areas that have a shortage!
I even thought abotu applying for other jobs.. not so easy either...
Its a pain that my great grandfather being born there doesnt mean anything!
*just checked they have updated the NYC site to include eligibility rather than just having a visa already! * fingers crossed |

all the more reason to get back to him and tell him that you are highly motivated and thats why your being soinsistent and then you ask if there are any WAIVERS for the requirments if you cannot make up for deficiencies with temporary certification at the same time your are working at that level...(whatever that level is?)....Capisci.=Peter= _________________ There are excellent websites to post inquiries concerning your family genalogy staffed by individual volunteers who do not charge anything but offer their knowledge to preserve family ties. |

TOO-TOO mild a letter. You have to understand the NY mindset. You have to club him with words!!!!!!!
"Willing to do any courses...." is not the same as requesting a Waiver for the deficiency in the job you are applying for or occupy a lesser or parallel position until such time as I can achieve the rrequired level. Since I am very desirous of working in this area, I am willing to come to your offices for a personal interview if that may make a difference.
Did you ever consider just coming over and finding a job with a private school or parochial school?? =Peter= _________________ There are excellent websites to post inquiries concerning your family genalogy staffed by individual volunteers who do not charge anything but offer their knowledge to preserve family ties. |

Well... I have emailed schools asking about job possabilities and even have my own priest offering to write me a letter of recommendation. Problem being... I have 3 months on my UK passport and basically would not be allowed to accept a job on that. Also the school would have to be my sponsor which many are unwilling to do as it costs time and money.
Argh... so short of getting married! haha... I aint getting into the country long term!
Peter.. I see you have something to do with tracing family ties in the USA.. is there a way to find out where my great grandfather would be buried? |
