BUFFALO, N.Y. -- A rare early October snowstorm that buried parts of the Great Lakes region under as much as 2 feet of snow was blamed Friday for at least three deaths in New York state, widespread blackouts and stranded travelers.

The Erie County Health Department said two people died in traffic accidents - one in Niagara County and the other in the town of Lancaster - and another person died after being hit by a falling tree limb while shoveling snow in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst.

Although the snow storm is sad I don't think it is of interest on virtualitalia. Nor is the ad at the bottom for gift baskets.

All of my friends in Italy knew about the snow strom before I did. They e mailed me with the news.

I think that this is better news than what VI has on the front page. An example would be the death of Fiat Chief Agnelli in a link that no longer works. Last I knew New York had a large population of Italians. I bet that Buffalo has more Real Italians the Boston!!

I cleaned up the message by deleting the advertising!!
