As a boy I had a passion for Italian motorcars: Alfas, Ferraris, Lancias, and Maseratis as well as designs by Pininfarina and Giugiaro. As an architecture student I became interested in Roman engineering feats, particularly the Pantheon, the Coliseum and the aqueducts, and their influences on succeeding periods of architecture such as the Renaissance and the Neo-Classical.
The study of architectural history eventually "forced" me to travel to Europe in order to become more acquainted with the subject. In my journeys to document architectural treasures, I experienced a variety of cultures and imbibed in copious quantities of food and drink. I also met some wonderful people, several of whom remain friends to this day. I even squeezed in a few auto races.
When not consumed with travel nor consuming a bistecca fiorentina on my own my interests include photography, vintage motorcars, hiking, wing-shooting, and fly-fishing.
